                                                                          Clay pot Tofu is a Chinese dish.

Tofu, also known as bean curd, is prepared from Soy milk and then pressing the   

resulting curds into solid white blocks of varying softness .

 We used to have it whenever we visit the outside restaurant in Aus.

My sis made a try in preparing this dish and it came nicely as well.

It is prepared in a clay pot. You can even prepare it with a large vessel or wok if you 

don't have a clay pot.

She tried it with Japanese egg tofu.


Here goes its recipe.


Ingredients


Japanese egg tofu/ bean curd- 100 gm

Minced garlic -2

Crushed ginger/ sliced- 1/4 tsp

Potato starch / corn starch- 1 tsp 


Vegetables used


Mushrooms-3 Julienned

Carrots- 1 Julienned

Broccoli-50 gms, cut into florets

Crunchy green bean-8                                                                                                

Baby corn 2 sliced     


Seasoning used



Oyster sauce- 2 tsp

Dark soy sauce- 1/8 tsp

Light soy sauce- 1 tsp

Sesame oil- 1 tsp

White pepper powder- 1/4 tsp

Salt - 1/2 tsp

Sugar- 1/2 tsp



Method



Slice tofu in 1/2 inch size pieces.

Fry it in a pan with less oil until it turns golden brown.

Keep it aside

Add ginger and garlic to the pan.

Saute it

Once its flavor comes, add mushrooms and vegetables . Stir fry for a few minutes.

Transfer the whole content to a clay pot and add seasonings and mushroom water.

Mix cornstarch with water and add this to vegetables.

Add tofu and cook for one more minute.

Serve it.
