Gaujas
Ingredients
Refined flour- 250 gms
Food color
Vanaspati/ghee-2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Water
Method
Mix flour, salt, and food color. Knead into a stiff dough with little water.
Keep it aside for 45 minutes.
Divide into even-sized balls. Roll into thin poories.
Make slits in the center taking care that the ends are not separated.
Roll from either side to the center.
Fold ends and twist.
Heat oil in a pan, fry it.
Remove and dip in syrup prepared using cardamom and sugar.
Note: For those want spicy Gaujas, use chili powder,hing, pepper powder and cumin seeds as well.
