Dates Pickle

Yum Dates Pickle


Vinegar- 1/3cup

Sugar- 3 tablespoon

Sesame oil-3 tbspn

Salt – to taste

Red chili powder-2 tablespoon

Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp

Hing- 1 tsp

Mustard seeds- 2 teaspoon

Cumin seeds- 1 tsp

Green chili-2-3


Garlic- 1 tablespoon

Ginger- 1tablespoon

Dates-250 gms

Jaggery-2 tablespoon


Slice dates into small pieces,removing seeds .Set aside.Now make a paste of chili powder, cumin seeds, and mustards seeds.Heat oil in a pan, add ginger,garlic,green chili,and curryleaves and saute it for a minute.

Then add hing, turmeric powder, chili paste, and vinegar.Bring it to boil.

To it add chopped dates and mix well.

Cook for 10 minutes.

Then add salt and jaggery.Mix everything nicely.Cook again for a few minutes till it is done.
