Ghee Rice
Ingredients
Basmati rice- 2cups
ghee
onions
raisins
cashew nuts
cinnamon - medium size piece
cloves-4
cardamom-4
salt to taste
Method
clean, wash, and drain the basmati rice.
First cook basmati rice with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and salt. Into that add a little bit of vanaspati or ghee.
(Don't add rice in water first itself, but add it only after it starts boiling).
cook for 10-15 minutes, till it gets cooked(3/4 the cooked consistency)
Cut onion into straight pieces, heat oil in a pan add the sliced onion and fry till its golden brown.
Fry raisins and cashew nuts separately in the remaining ghee.set aside.
then heat a pan, add ghee or vanaspati, add cooked rice and fried onions and cashew nuts and raisins along with salt dissolved in water in the required amount, layer by layer.Serve it .
